Are these cool spring days putting you in a fowl mood? Sorry, I couldn't help it - honest! Today's round up of recipes is in honour of National Poultry Day (today!). They are sure to bring a smile to your face and family's table.
My family has, for as long as I can remember, raised free run poultry (sometimes chickens, sometimes turkeys) to adorn our dinner table at festive occasions and throughout the winter season. Last year I casually posted a photo of one of these gorgeous birds in my InstantPot being prepped for a day of slow cooking deliciousness, and I soon had several friends who follow my social media accounts messaging me and asking if my family sells extra birds. (The answer is yes "Lush Acres" does sell their poultry in very limited quantities, and my brother's freezer was empty before he even got home that evening. What a good sister I am!) You won't find Lush Acres on Facebook or Instagram. They don't have a web site. It's more of a "Did you eat today? Thank a farmer" sort of arrangement, providing family and friends with some of the most delicious, moist poultry for family meals that you could possibly imagine. (Cooking skills are not guaranteed ... that's what this blog is for!)
Given the family business, I feel it's my due diligence to promote poultry on National Poultry Day, and I was excited to get the opportunity to collaborate with a handful of amazing food bloggers once again to share a fun and diverse round up of poultry recipes for you to add to your upcoming meal plans with your family.
